‘calico’ is the new release from singer-songwriter and guitarist Searows. The track is a lyric-forward rumination on homesickness, with his tender words flowing above simple acoustic guitar and cinematic textures, performed at an ultra-slow tempo. “I’ve spent a lot of time travelling the last couple of years, which has sometimes been hard since I have always been very much a homebody, but it helps to have things from home around me like a Calico Critter or a stuffed animal or a Bob Dylan song,” he explains. “This song is about that, and about finding people that you can be a kid around when you need to be.” Searows’ new EP, flush, is available now via Last Recordings On Earth.
